She graduated magna cum laude at the University of Bologna School of Law and is now a Lawyer of the Court of Bologna, admitted to practice before the Supreme Court and the Highest Courts, and is the Founding Partner of Studio Legale Alessandri. She has vast “hands-on” experience in drafting and negotiating commercial international agreements, international trade law issues, in private, procedural and uniform international law matters, as well as in conflicts of jurisdiction, arbitration, mediation and ADR. She is arbitrator of the Arbitration Chamber of the Chamber of Commerce and of the Court of Bologna. She takes part in numerous national and international arbitrations and is Of Counsel of the Law Firm LAVVIT in Munich (Germany). Mediator of the Bologna Bar Mediation Center (also for international commercial disputes), she is also Teacher trainer for mediators accredited by the Italian Ministry of Justice. She is lecturer in international contracts and international litigation in numerous masters programs and in specialized courses in legal English for lawyers managed by EFLIT. She has full fluency and ability to draft and negotiate legal documents in English, German and Italian. Maura Alessandri has been Adjunct Professor of International Contracts and Uniform Law (course in English) and of Comparative Private Law at the University of Bologna School of Law, as well as Assistant Professor of Comparative Private Law at the Bologna and Verona University School of Law. She also carried out research programs in Germany at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg and at the Tilburg University in the Netherlands. She worked as a lawyer at the Galgano Law Firm in Bologna and subsequently as Senior Associate Lawyer of the Bernini/Baker & McKenzie international law firm, where she gained significant experience in providing claims and dispute resolution support during the execution of contracts and in managing arbitration proceedings before the major national and international arbitration institutions, including arbitrations before the International Chamber of Commerce of Paris (CCI), both as lawyer and as arbitrator. She was the Italian referee for the JURE database of the European Union on European regulations on jurisdiction, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments.
